HIGH ROCKY RIDERS 2008 RIDE SCHEDULE

 

RIDER RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Contact the trip leaders to sign up for each trip. As rides will fill up, call early to reserve your spot

2.     Confirm the meeting time and location, and ask directions if you are not familiar with the trailhead

3.     Show up on time with your equipment ready and your gas tank full

4.     Bring all necessary accessories, lunch, money, warm clothes, flash light, camera, 2 way radios, etc.

5.     Helmets, boots, gloves, goggles, and long pants are recommended and may be required on some trips

6.     Please be as responsible for yourself as possible – bring first aid kit, tools, water, snacks, sunscreen, and rain gear

7.     Be prepared for our changing mountain weather, dress in layers and bring extra clothes

Sunday April 20 depart BV to Farmington, NM. Monday depart Farmington to Hot Well Dunes, AZ. Camping only or a 25 minute drive from motels at Safford, AZ. No Gas or water available at the OHV area. Thursday 4/24 depart Hot Well Dunes to Bahia de Kino (6-7 hours). Camping motels, beach houses available. Wednesday 4.30 depart Bahia de Kino for Hot Well Dunes. Thursday 5/1 depart Hot Well Dunes for BV.

Bahia de Kino is on the mailand of Mexico on thed Sea of Cortez across from the Baja. It offers many miles of desertand beach riding plus fishing and kayaking (we'll be taking our SOT kayak). Full hookups are around $20US. ATV's allowed in town off of the main highways. Kino is a "Free Zone" so no Mexican visa is required, but a passport may be required to reenter the US.

This area is the "Official Wild Flower Capital of Colorado". Known for beautiful scenery. The old Town site of Gothic is much like our St. Elmo, We plan to go over on Saturday afternoon and camp along the Slate River. The ride will be on Sunday. So, those not wanting to camp can join us Sunday Morning for the ride up Emerald Lake and Schofield Pass. Bring a lunch.
